Hey there

I’m a product designer whose career has evolved across three related disciplines: journalism, web development, and user experience design.

I began my career as a photographer at the Idaho Statesman, where I learned how to ask the right questions, understand audiences, and tell clear, compelling stories. While working in the newsroom, I started building interactive features and Flash applications for IdahoStatesman.com, which sparked a deeper interest in how digital products are made.

That curiosity led me into front-end web development at Bodybuilding.com, one of the early leaders in online fitness retail. There, I worked on large-scale eCommerce experiences and learned how design, code, and user behavior come together to shape digital products.

Today, I work as a UX designer, applying both storytelling and technical thinking to solve complex product problems. At Farmers Insurance, I design agent quoting software that helps thousands of insurance agents navigate underwriting rules, coverage options, and bindable rates.

My background in journalism helps me uncover user insights. My development experience helps me design practical solutions. Together they shape how I approach UX today.

When I’m not designing, you’ll probably find me on a bike—clearing my head and thinking through the next problem to solve.
